garage conversions
Garage conversions are a really clever way of taking redundant space and turning it into something valuable and useful. Most of the items in your garage can be reduced to a neat and tidy shed-load and transferred to your back garden quite easily. Then think of the things you can do with an extra room! From a home office, wet room, utility, extension to your kitchen, play room, laundry room - the options are endless. And the best part? It's unlikely that you'll require planning permission. But if you do, we can help with that - and everything else - as well.
a brief case study

before
This tired garage in RIverfield Grove in Tamworth needed some Neptune care and attention!
the process
We removed some of the walls and replaced the roof so it was structurally and thermally up to standard.
after
We added a large window to the front to allow lots of natural light and a smart doorway to the side completed the build.

Hex Design and Build converted my garage into a useful office room and integrated a really flimsy porch into the main part of the house. The whole project was honestly a dream! We were very well looked after throughout the whole build. From David who initially walked us through our options and designed exactly what we needed; to the team who were with us each day and made it a reality. The whole process was honest and transparent.
David went through the various aspects of the work including planning permission, drawings and costs. He also advised on matching bricks – something I hadn’t thought of!
The build team were incredible. They were so nice and made a fuss of our little girl - very friendly whilst also being professional. Each day they would hose down the driveway, tidy up and check in with us to clarify the next stages. You’d never have known they were there – the site, our home, was immaculate. They had a Portaloo and didn’t need access to the house at all.
Everything was managed for us, we didn’t have the hassle of finding, comparing and scheduling any of the trades. It felt very well planned and we didn’t ever doubt it would all go to plan.
One incident happened that we didn’t know about until afterwards. An existing lintel had been assumed in the quotation. In fact there wasn’t one so David just ordered, paid for and installed one at Neptune’s expense without saying a word. Again, we had someone else to do the driveway. Neptune’s landscapers saw it, didn’t like the quality, so redid it for us at no extra cost. I couldn’t see that it needed replacing until I saw the Neptune driveway. They are a real bunch of perfectionists!
I can’t recommend Hex highly enough. In fact, my dad is now having some work done by them through my introduction which says it all.
